David Burdette

Associate

David brings more than 30 years of experience in education, athletics, leadership, and community service to his professional career. A graduate of Clemson University with a Bachelor of Arts in Secondary Mathematics, he has built his career around two consistent strengths: analyzing complex information and building meaningful relationships with people from all backgrounds.

David spent more than two decades at Asheville High School, where he taught mathematics while serving in numerous athletic leadership roles, including Head Football Coach, Head Softball Coach, Assistant Football Coach, and Assistant Baseball Coach. As Head Football Coach, he was responsible for the daily operations of the program, including budgeting, scheduling, working with recruiters, and communicating with parents about student-athletes' progress.

He later continued his career at Tuscola High School and Reynolds High School as a mathematics teacher and football coach. During his time as a Defensive Coordinator, David scouted opponents, analyzed offensive tendencies and patterns, developed weekly defensive game plans, and managed video breakdown and storage. Those responsibilities strengthened the analytical, organizational, and strategic skills he developed throughout his career as a mathematician and educator.

In 2023, David transitioned into the private sector as a Commercial Insurance Producer with Insurance Service of Asheville. In that role, he is responsible for developing relationships and bringing new commercial insurance clients to the company. His ability to communicate effectively and work with a wide variety of people has been a defining strength throughout his career.

David has also maintained a longstanding commitment to his community through North Asheville Little League, where he has served since 1994. As Player Agent, he oversees player evaluation and placement as well as game and practice scheduling. As Head Umpire, he is responsible for training, evaluating, and scheduling umpires.

Throughout his career, David has demonstrated an ability to lead teams, recognize patterns, evaluate people, communicate clearly, and develop strategies designed for long-term success. He brings the competitive mindset of a coach, the analytical thinking of a mathematician, and the relationship-building skills of an educator to the next chapter of his career.

We sat down with David and asked him the following:

• What do you like most about working at Kimmel & Associates?
  It is a very supportive environment. Everyone wants to see you be successful.
• What is one thing you learned early in your career that has made you successful?
  You have to come to work every day and prepare to grind. There aren't really any shortcuts. It is just hard work every day.
• What causes are you passionate about?
  Youth Sports and seeing kids be the best versions of themselves.
• Favorite quote?
  Good things come to those who work.
• How do you spend your free time?
  Coach youth sports, play table tennis, board games and miniature wargames, and spend time with my family.
• What can clients and candidates expect from you?
  I will always try and make it right and do what is in their best interest.
• What is your greatest strength in your role?
  I care deeply about people and seeing them succeed.
