About the Position
The company is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to lead and optimize the operations of a 100k square foot food distribution center. The Operations Manager will be responsible for overseeing daily warehouse activities, ensuring efficient workflows, managing staff, and driving performance improvements across all operational functions. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual with a strong background in operations, team leadership, and logistics within the distribution industry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee day-to-day operations of a busy 100k sq ft food distribution center.
- Lead, train, and develop a team of warehouse personnel, ensuring high performance and adherence to company standards.
- Develop and implement operational processes to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
- Ensure inventory management practices are accurate and effective.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure the center meets operational targets.
- Collaborate with senior management to support company growth and objectives.
- Maintain safety and compliance standards across all operational activities.
Requirements:
- Experience: A minimum of 10 years of experience in operations management, specifically within a food distribution or warehouse environment.
- Proven track record of successfully managing and leading small teams in a fast-paced, high-volume distribution center.
- Strong understanding of logistics, inventory management, and distribution operations.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and compliance within distribution environments.
- Bachelor's degree in Operations Management, Logistics, Supply Chain, or a related field preferred, but not required.
